To put it simply, Web3 is the new evolution of the internet. The current internet is considered Web2, which gives rise to large internet companies such as Google, Amazon, eBay, social media platforms & the majority of current internet websites. Now, with new technology emerging such as artificial intelligence (AI), Virtual & Augmented Reality (VR & AR), the Metaverse, Cryptocurrencies, Deep Learning, the Internet is evolving in to a <strong>unified network</strong> where products & services, payment systems, social media & live streaming are meged in to a single, unified experience.

We developed Portal3 as a gateway for individuals & businesses to access the Web3 space. Portal3 is not an infrastructure protocol for the internet itself, instead, what it does is provide products & services which allow you to easily connect to the Web3 infrastructure via a simple interface. Whether you have existing products or services to sell, or want to create something new, we offer support on the technical implementation to get your products & services in the hands of your audience.

A non-fungible token (NFT) is a unique and non-interchangeable unit of data stored on a blockchain, a form of digital record of ownership. The big hype around NFT's at this time is generally associated with the sales of unique artwork, digital content, assets which can gain value over time, however, NFT technology has much more potential with usecases for professional industries such as Music, Movies & Entertainment, Real Estate, Creative Industries such as Product Design, Architecture & Engineering, the list goes on. NFT's provide us with proof of ownership which is virtually impossible to fake, making piracy & counterfeits increasingly difficult to maintain.

The short answer is...No. Web3 is not essential for a business to operate or to be successful, yet. In much the same way as in the 1990's, e-commerce was not essential for business to succeed. However, as the internet improved, and more & more businesses used the internet for commerce, the internet became the largest, the most successful, and the most profitable place to do business and reach new customers. Web3 IS the new internet. You may not need Web3 now, but at some point in the near future, it may just be the key to your business' success.

Portal3 is much more flexible than that. In fact, the core team started off in familiar industries, such as archjitecture, project management, 3D animation, web design & Javascipt programming. Portal3 can offer services for convential applications too. We encourage our customers to think about Web3 for their personal projects or their businesses, but it is not essential.
